Travel back in time with National Geographic and explore the ways ancient Egypt inspired Marvel Studios’ Moon Knight, an Original series now streaming only on Disney+.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that sooner or later every studio, production company or, in this case, streaming service will eventually adapt a Jane Austen story. Today it’s the turn of Netflix, which has its version of Persuasion on the way and has debuted some initial images.

Starring Dakota JohnsonCosmo JarvisNikki Amuka-Bird, Mia McKenna-Bruce, Richard E. Grant and Henry GoldingPersuasion adapts Austen’s novel about a young woman named Anne Elliot.

Living with her snobby family on the brink of bankruptcy, she is a non-conforming woman with modern sensibilities. When Frederick Wentworth – the dashing one she let get away – crashes back into her life, Anne must choose between putting the past behind her or listening to her heart when it comes to second chances.

This take comes from director Carrie Cracknell, with Alice Victoria Winslow and Ron Bass on adaptation patrol. The movie will hit Netflix globally on 15 July.
